It's an I'etty - troublesome and dangerous small and ancient creatures for the Ebonunder - fantasy art by HB Wallen for the Under Legend Saga

The I’etty

Many old myths tell of the I'etty as friend before the cruel hand of man, yet I find it strange that stories speak of these creatures as any kind of friend to man given their tenacity for disruption and cruel humor. They are simply mean-spirited creatures that are odd in normality to nature.

Some say . . .

  • Field Note: I’ettty become more dangerous in packs.
  • Field Note: Friend or devil. Angel or pest. Whatever they once were, they are no longer aligned with man.
  • Addendum: The “huff” is not breath. It is warning.
  • Dispute: Myths make little mention of their small size.

This is incorrect. I’ettty are always dangerous. Beware. They remember the cruelty of solitude.
